Traços de personalidade e comportamentos agressivos: O papel mediador da vingança

Resumo


Este estudo tem por objetivo verificar o papel mediador da vingança na relação entre traços de personalidade e agressão. Contou-se com a participação de 218 pessoas, com idades entre 18 e 69 anos (M=27,84; DP=10,37), a maioria do sexo feminino e com ensino superior incompleto. Os participantes responderam ao inventário dos Big Five, questionário de agressão Buss-Perry e escala de vingança. Como resultados, apenas a amabilidade e o neuroticismo apresentaram correlações significativas com os fatores da agressão e com a vingança. Acerca dos modelos de mediação, o modelo da amabilidade não obteve um bom ajuste de dados para predizer a agressão física, agressão verbal e hostilidade; para o neuroticismo, houve uma mediação parcial em todos os tipos de agressão. Entende-se que os resultados contribuem para a compreensão de quais mecanismos estão subjacentes aos comportamentos agressivos, sobretudo quando se leva em conta os traços de personalidade e as atitudes vingativas.
