A influência do sentido de vida e de fatores psicossociais na qualidade de vida de doentes com esclerose múltipla

Resumo


Este estudo tem como objetivo analisar a influência do sentido de vida, suporte social, ansiedade e depressão na perceção de qualidade de vida de pessoas com Esclerose Múltipla (EM). A amostra, constituída por 30 indivíduos com diagnóstico médico confirmado de EM, sendo 56.7% mulheres, e com uma média de idade de 48.17 anos, respondeu aos seguintes instrumentos: questionário sociodemográfico, Escala de Sentido de VidaEscala de Suporte SocialHADS e WHOQOL-Bref. Efetuaram-se modelos de regressão para analisar os determinantes dos vários domínios da qualidade de vida, tendo-se observado os seguintes determinantes: para a faceta Geral da Qualidade de Vida e para o domínio de Relações Sociais, a Depressão; para o domínio Físico, a Depressão e Subdiagnóstico de EM; para os domínios Psicológico e Ambiente da Qualidade de Vida observou-se um efeito significativo do Sentido de Vida e da Ansiedade. Este estudo aponta para a relevância da intervenção psicológica na melhoria da qualidade de vida na EM e, designadamente, para a importância da diminuição da sintomatologia ansiosa e depressiva e redescoberta do sentido de vida.
